Use and maintenance of lead acid power battery

Release Time: 2022-03-04
The correct use of lead-acid power battery can ensure the safety and reliability of the system power supply, and the battery can also achieve the longest service life.
When using lead-acid power batteries, pay special attention to the following:
1. Do not mix old and new batteries! The internal resistance of the old and new batteries is different. When mixed, the monomer voltage of the old and new batteries is different, which is easy to accelerate the battery damage.
2. Prevent battery overdischarge. If the battery discharge reaches the rated capacity or the voltage of a single battery reaches 10.8V, stop discharging immediately. (Note: the power supply system must be equipped with low voltage protection for the battery, the protection voltage is 23V, so as to prolong the service life of the battery).
3. When using the battery string, especially when charging, leave enough space between the cells to dissipate heat. The larger the battery capacity, the larger the gap should be. There should be a gap of at least 1 cm between the batteries.
4. Choose appropriate and high-quality charging equipment for charging, and do not overvoltage or overcurrent charging. It is recommended that the ambient temperature is not higher than 30 ° C. If the ambient temperature is too high, use a fan for forced heat dissipation.
5. Charge the battery within 24 hours after discharging. Each time charging, the battery should be fully charged before use. Not charging for a long time will make the battery plate sulfuric acid, this damage is irreversible, serious will lead to current dissatisfaction, capacity decline, and even completely scrapped.
6. Maintain the battery properly
The output voltage and current of the charging equipment should be rechecked periodically with an accurate meter. Do not adjust the current and voltage Settings of the charging device without the guidance of a professional to avoid misoperation.
Maintenance-free batteries do not require acid and water maintenance, not maintenance management. To ensure that the battery works well, you need to perform necessary maintenance, such as:
6.1 When using or storing the battery, do not connect the positive and negative terminals of the battery with conductive objects to cause short circuit. The short circuit current of the battery is very high, which can cause serious injury to human body.
6.2 The surface of the battery should be kept clean and dry to prevent self-discharge or impurities from entering the battery.
6.3 When the battery is fully charged before delivery, users can usually load the battery directly for use. If the battery is shelved for a long time (more than 2 months), it should be charged before use.
6.4 If the battery is not used for a long time, it should be fully charged and then stored. If it is not used for more than 3 months, it should be recharged.
6.5 Batteries should be stored in a well-ventilated, dry environment free from acid fog, where the temperature is not greater than 35 ° C and the relative humidity is not greater than 75%.

6.6 If the battery package is accidentally wet with water during storage or transportation, remove the outer package immediately to avoid the battery discharge or battery terminal damage caused by the wet packing case.
